“Above the Fog.”
A slender sliver of a tower, and the upper floors sometimes find themselves above the fog.
One Rincon Hill is the 60-story tower at First and Harrison, finished in 2008 and designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz for Urban West Associates. It was the first of the full-service view towers on Rincon Hill, and it still sets the bar: 376 homes, a pool, an attended lobby and the Bay Bridge practically at the window.

Who It's For
One Rincon Hill is for people who want the full-service tower life without the brand-new-building premium: downtown workers who want to walk to the office, pied-à-terre owners who want a lock-and-leave home with a doorman, and anyone who wants to look at the Bay Bridge every morning. The one-bedrooms are some of the best-value view homes on Rincon Hill.
The Backstory: The Water Tank on Top
At the very top of the tower is a 50,000-gallon tank of water. It’s a tuned sloshing damper: when wind off the bay pushes the building one way, the water sloshes the other and calms the sway, so nobody up high feels seasick. One Rincon Hill was planned as a two-tower project. The second tower, sharing the same townhouse podium, was later built out and sold separately as The Harrison next door.
Floor Plans
Junior one-bedrooms start around 600 square feet, most one-bedrooms are about 700 to 840 square feet, and the two-bedrooms run about 1,200 to 1,650 square feet, with three-bedrooms and penthouses above that. Plans repeat up the tower, so the stack and the view matter as much as the layout. Free Insider members can download the original floor plans, plus the recorded CC&Rs and parcel map, at the bottom of this guide.
