“Pacific Heights on Van Ness?”
Yes, and that’s the appeal: newer construction, a pool and a garage, a block from Polk Street.
Pacific Place is two towers at 1701 Jackson Street and 1800 Washington Street, set around a palm courtyard with a pool on the block of Van Ness between Jackson and Washington. Emerald Fund finished it in 2001 with 152 homes, mostly studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms, plus townhomes above the shops on Van Ness. It’s in the MLS Pacific Heights district, directly across Van Ness from Polk Gulch and Nob Hill.

The Lobbies and Fitness Center

Who It's For
Pacific Place is for buyers who want a newer building with real amenities in a central spot: first-time buyers, people who commute by bus or work downtown, and anyone who would rather swim laps at home than pay for a gym. If you want a classic Pacific Heights flat with period details, the blocks west of here are a better fit.
The Backstory: Two Towers and a Courtyard
Emerald Fund built Pacific Place with Christiani Johnson Architects and Webcor. The design sets two towers at right angles around a courtyard, each with its own lobby, with townhomes above the Van Ness storefronts, and it won a merit award from Builder magazine. Twenty-plus years later, the courtyard pool is still the feature people ask about first.
